JIB partners with US school

SOME 50 graduating hospitality students in Davao City can avail of an internship in the United States, following the signing of a memorandum of agreement between the city-based Joji Ilagan Bian (JIB) Career Center Foundation and American Hospitality Academy (AHA), a US-based hospitality school, last week.
Joji Ilagan-Bian, chair of JIB, in Saturday's signing of the MOA, said the agreement will mark a new beginning in international studies.
One of the key features of the partnership is that JIB's graduating students can take their internship at top hotels in Florida, South Carolina, Louisiana, and South Coast, among others.

"It is easy to claim a partnership but it is best to have a partnership with an institution that really has a face," Bian said.
For Bian, since they aim to develop the entirety of their students, the partnership will further strengthen their objectives.
Cindi Reiman, president of AHA, told reporters that they granted the partnership proposal of JIB because of the natural warmth of Filipinos.
"Across the world, Filipinos have this natural smile and hospitality," Cindi said.
The JIB eyes to send it first batch of interns to the US in March nect year for a one-year internship. Based on the agreement, interns will also be paid in either per hour or daily basis.
